The AcuRite Digital Meat Thermometer allows you to monitor the temperature of the food you are cooking with the oven door or grill lid closed. The commercial quality stainless steel probe measures internal food temperature while roasting and features a 3 ft. 600ºF heat resistant cord, perfect for monitoring food in the oven, grill, fryer or smoker. Programmable alarm automatically alerts you when your target temperature is reached - simply select one of the USDA recommended temperatures from the quick reference guide printed on the thermometer or set your own temperature. Value

I have used this thermometer at the oven and the grill. It is durable and dependable + easy to use. Switch from US to metric is easy and clips that hold the stand on are also very durable. I have other Accurite products as well (clocks and rain gauge) and trust this manufacturer! (Posted on 4/10/13)

Nice digital thermometer. Back is a bit hard to remove. Just turn very slightly as you pull straight back. I've taken mine off several times. Price is right. (Posted on 4/16/12)

Nice thermometer, except...the instructions indicate the stand is able to be removed from the unit. You have to do this in order to install batteries. Well I pulled and pulled and finally the two little tabs that hold the pieces together broke apart, and I was able to install the batteries. The stand is no longer usable. Nice design, chumps.
