Excellent Value Review by Doug H.
We have just had our weather station set up a few days but we are thrilled with the way it works and how easy it was to install. All of the information that it gives us at a glance is just wonderful. Very few things I buy anymore do I feel that I got a true value but an instrument of this quality at this price is an exceptional value. (Posted on 4/27/14)
Accurate and Simple Review by Fred
I've only had the unit about a month and I'm very impressed. It's very accurate and I enjoy the windchill information since I live in upstate NY. I think the only thing that I would change is having the display back lighted. I knew it wasn't a lighted display when I purchased it but i have experienced several instances where it would be nice. Having said that for the money and the information this unit provides I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. (Posted on 4/5/14)
Simple Review by Mike
I got this weather station as a gift and I am so impressed on how it works, has all the basic needs. Can't wait till it has learned its 14 day of weather! (Posted on 3/2/14)
Good unit Review by mw
This unit is very impressive even though I had one fail already. They replaced it for me but the customer service I received was lacking. (Posted on 2/26/14)
Love it - now have 2 displays :) Review by r.r.
After several years, the display of my 00436 just showed dashes, prior episodes were solved by battery changes in the sensor and display - not this time. After trying new batteries to no avai, I brought the sensor inside and tried all settings of A,B and C. One of the settings showed an outside temp of -40! So here was the dilemma, new sensor for $40+ or a whole new setup on sale for around $60. I opted for the new setup (love the new sensor design) and was pleasantly suprised to find that both the new and old displays worked with the new sensor! Now I have one in the kitchen and one in the living room.
If I cold ask for more features, there would be 2:
wind direction and a backlight for the display.
I love the accurate readings of both inside and outside conditions. As I sit here in Kansas on a snowy February day, forecast has just changed from flashing snow to partly cloudy - I'm guessing the snow will be ending soon!
Love it!!! (Posted on 2/4/14)
Amazing Review by Julyfly
We had owned this exact same model for several years and loved it. After a nasty microburst this past summer, though, it was pretty banged up (one of the arms was broken off), so we decided to replace it with a new one. We have THOROUGHLY enjoyed both models!! Both have proved to be accurate, easy to set up, and a great value for the money. Even the weather "forecasts" are almost always spot-on. :-) We mounted ours on a 6-foot PVC pole as described in the accompanying instructions - dimensions again deadly accurate. (Posted on 12/30/13)
Works great Review by JASON
Easy to set up, took about 15-20 mins. It's been setup for only a day but all readings work fine. As one person already mentioned, the display is prone to reflection and a back light would be nice. For the price it's a good entry level weather station. (Posted on 12/7/13)
The weather station is simple to set up Review by Kenneth
The weather station is very simple to set-up. The display is great.
The anemometer is very sensitive, and mounted clear of the station
body so it catches the wind well from any direction.
The updates are every few minutes, and the sensor battery has
lasted over a year. (Posted on 6/27/13)
All in one convenience Review by Paperman
This unit is easy to set up in just a few minutes. I have it mounted on the included mounting bracket on the outside of an upstairs deck railing in an effort to minimize the effects of radiant heat from the wood. Thus far it appears to be giving accurate temperature readings, but it remains to be seen whether it will have to be relocated during the hotter months. The wind speed is transmitted to the receiver every 18-20 seconds, not continuously, so you might look out the window and see it spinning madly and yet giving a lower than expected reading on the receiver display. However, it also records and displays peak and average wind speed. The unit has a "14-day learning mode," after which time I presume it gives more accurate barometric pressure readings. There is no way to manually establish the initial barometric pressure setting, so how it does this is a mystery to me. A cold front passed through the other day (unit nearing end of learning mode) and it showed a pressure reading of about 29.7 inches, which would be quite low. The atomic clock set itself the first night (does not display seconds). The clear plastic over the display is prone to reflections and many of the read-outs are quite small and difficult to see. A wealth of information! Review by Jeffrey J.
The Acu-Rite 00634 Weather Station is a very nice unit for the price. I like all of the features and only wish the display was lighted. The main unit is the right size and nice looking. The outdoor unit sensor seems well built for the elements and I mounted mine 3 feet above my bird feeders on the feeder pole. The birds don't seem to mind the anemometer spinning around! Wonderful unit, amazingly accurate Review by randy
I received a unit for christmas and was so impressed I purchased another for our trailer at a private park. The 00634A1 is easy to install. The accuracy is equal to the National Weather Service. (Posted on 1/16/13)
Excellent weather station! Review by Steven S.
Received this for Christmas and installed on New Years Day. The future forecast has been amazingly accurate as we have had eight days of continuously changing weather and is still going through the "learning mode". I really like the amount of information and features from this unit including the atomic clock, moon phase, barometric pressure, and wind speed. Measurements have been very close w/in a percent or two from other weather stations in the area. I like having this device in our kitchen to see indoor humidity and temperature along with the outdoor readings and gives me the ability to plan my day with confidence. Great weather station and highly recommended. (Posted on 1/11/13)
The most accurate readings at its price Review by NOAA Mount Holly, NJ Meteorologist Steve A.
For a low priced weather station it has superior accuracy, too achieve the most accurate wind speed's I recommend to place the sensor at a great deal of height, preferably at least 5ft. above the ground or upon a rooftop, temperatures slightly differ when placed on a roof but only by ~1.5 degrees. The relative humidity readings are very accurate within 2% of the actual percentage, the barometric pressure on the other hand you MUST wait to be accurate as the station has a 14 day learning mode, which determines your altitude, which really doesn't have too much to do with forecasting the weather it just basicly determines the barometric pressure which is vital in predicting weather conditions. In my opinon the forecasts are usually accurate(75%), but I don't believe it has to do mostly with the "algorithm" having to do with the relation between temperature and barometric pressure it mostly has to do with the pressure, as for example sometimes when everyday usual changes occur such as drops and rises a small sudden drop by .06 Inhg could trigger a mostly cloudy or rain forecast icon ut otherwise the forecast is generally accurate an example would be one day snow was forecasted for my area as I had woken up i looked at my station which indicated heavy snow (the flashing snow icon) and to my suprise the atmosphere was clear and blue with few cirrus clouds, 2 hours later it started to snow at a moderate rate and as I stared at the station it suddenly turned to a wintry mix alert icon and again to my suprise it turned into a wintry mix, compared to the forecasts of my davis vantage pro 2 the forecasts are much more accurate, and the atomic clock gets its signal overnight. great Review by romoelaf
Very accurate wind speed after mounting the sensor on a ten foot PVC pole. We live on a lake with very strong wind gust, I can't wait to see the real speeds after Sandy's high winds blew through here in the GREAT LAKES AREA.

A OK Review by Frog
Set was quick, compared reading to weather radio, close and has not had the full 15 day learning curve, next one will be with rain gauge. (Posted on 12/7/12)
Fabulous Product, Couldn't Be Happier! Review by CD318
I dreaded getting one of these weather stations---all I thought about was the set-up and product quality.
I could not be happier!! Set-up consisted of installing batteries in the transmitter and receiver--that's it! The atomic clock is deadly accurate and just made the appropriate time change for Daylight savings time. Two screws into the side of a 4X4 post that was out in my yard, and bingo--you've got your very own home weather station. The instructions say to keep the transmitter within 100 ft of the receiver, but my signal is excellent and the unit works perfectly at a further distance.
Enjoy--you won't regret it!

Looks great- Works even better! Review by Robert
This is my first weather station and I am very pleased. It worked right out of the box. I mounted it on PVC pipe pole on my deck strapped to the railing and it even looks great. Highly recommended. (Posted on 8/8/12)
Way Cool Review by Lisa R.
As easy and cool as they claim. The all in one outdoor sensor mounted on PVC pipe doesn't distract from my landscaping. The wireless range is great (>100ft adverstised). Remember to buy Lithium AA batteries for the outdoor sensor if you live in a cold climate. How did I live without wind speed?

Stay with Acurite, you can't go wrong Review by Mary
I have had two other Acurite products for many years and they are still functioning, one sensor display is gone but it still sends a great signal and I can read it on the monitor inside my home. This Acu-rite 2 way wireless weather forecaster does all that I want, chill factors, barometric pressures, histories, forecasts, moon-phases, heat index, dew point, wind speed and wind speed peaks and average, temperature highs and lows as well as history for 12 hours, humidity inside and out, temperature inside and out,the date, and of course time set to the atomic clocks in Colorado. I looked at an up and coming product from another company but the reviews were not so good, so I stayed with Acu-Rite I don't think you'll go wrong if you do the same. (Posted on 6/15/12)
Great unit for the price Review by Norsky
This ACU-RITE 634 weather station works great as advertised. I've had it running now since Christmas day and it was easy to set up and I'm having no problems. The outside (and inside) sensors seems to be very sensitive and accurate. The inside display show a lot of info, although it would have been nice if the "history" feature was a little more precise. If you have lower temps outside (<35 degrees) use LIthium batteries in the outside sensor as the battery condition indicator on the inside unit flashes "Low Battery" if you use alkaline batts. A few things to think about are that the inside unit does not have a lighted screen, you don't get wind direction or a rain sensor, and you don't get pc connectivity. If you want any of those things look at a more expensive unit. Otherwise it's a great unit for the price! (Posted on 1/18/12)

Perfect weather display Review by Tom (AL farmer)
Was easy to install, all aspects of the instrument works as stated. give it a few minutes to connect to the world clock. I could not be more pleased with a product. The range for my transmiter is about 200 feet and goes through a birck wall and 8 Inch concrete basement wall. (Posted on 12/4/11)
I think I have found the perfect solution Review by Texas Kitchen
Our weather here in the middle of Texas is constantly changing. The weatherman have very little chance of getting it right everyday. I have a memory of going to school in the morning and it was 80 degrees. By 10:00 we were sent home because it was snowing. Needless to say I have been on a quest to find a better weatherman ever since.I think I have found the perfect solution. AcuRite is a wonderful company that sells amazingly accurate weather stations for home use. The one I received is super easy to install and really simple to use. It has a large digital display that is so self explanatory even those with no technological expertise can tell the forecast and weather with ease. It has been really nice to know the wind speed as well as wind chill before I go outside to feed the animals. No more walking out the front door and getting surprised by a chill ya to the bone breeze. I love my weather station and think these are great gift ideas. (Posted on 10/31/11)
