Great Information Must have!! Review by Ed
I always wanted to keep up with the weather and temps with humidity. I always know what the windspeed is with the humidity. This spring and summer looking forward to know what the winds are during the storms and more.
Easy set up. Placed a pole in the backyard with the windspeed/sensor on it and works great. (Posted on 3/18/14)
It's a great value and lots of fun. Review by Ryan
The price is great, and it is much easier to set up that the comparable units sold by competitors. It is very much plug and play. the installation of the outdoor sensor was simple.I found a clearing in the back yard away from the house and trees to mount the outdoor sensor. I drove a metal fence post into the ground. I purchased a 10 foot piece of 3/4" electrical PVC conduit and then I secured the sensor unit to the top of it. I secured the PVC to the post with steel hose clams and done! It took all of 15 minutes. An aluminum or steel conduit can be placed inside the PVC to stiffen it up for those of us who live in the Mid-Western prairie lands. (Posted on 1/30/14)
Up and running Review by smlroger
Got the station, ahead of eta, which was appreciated. Instructions were easy to understand and the unit was easy to set up. At first couldnt figure out why there appeared to be some missing battery contacts in the sensor and could not get a signal from the sensor unit. Kept moving the ABC switch around and waiting, and it finally started working. Great signal. This should be a great instrument to use and play with. Will be fun. (Posted on 1/12/14)
Easy install works (Great) ! Review by Rich
Easy install and setup,I would recommend this as a must have. We have high speed winds I always wondered what the wind speed was during one of these wind storms. Also it is very affordable in these times. (Posted on 12/24/13)
00634 Review by Bill Diersen
We had several high speed storms through our area and destroyed our weather sensor, and I had to obtain another one. I have been very pleased with the one we had, and that is why I ordered a replacement. The replacement I have mounted on a 10 foot PVC pipe, and secured it. (Posted on 9/2/13)
Great Review by Eric
Worth every penny! Got this two years ago and haven't had to change the batteries yet! Perfect for the weather junky and the novice who just wants to know what to wear before heading off to work in the morning. Highly recommend this product! (Posted on 8/30/13)
Excellent product - Very Pleased Review by John
I've had various devices from other company...all junk in short order. I came across AcuRite 2 years ago...and now have about 6 of their units at home and work. VERY satisfied. I had a small problem with this unit after about 6 months, called support, and they took care of it immediately...with a smile and a great customer-centric attitude. You can't go wrong with this company's products...and the price is right too. (Posted on 7/13/13)
An excellent value for a great weather station Review by juggler035
This weather station has a lot of features seen on much more expensive units. It has a lot of nice features including forecasting and wind speed. It is easy to assemble and set-up (Posted on 7/12/13)
Just about every weather stat you could want! Review by Scott5555
Had the weather station for about 6 mos, really don't need the TV weather guys/gals anymore. Everything you need is right there. Temps, humidity, pressure, forecast, wind speed and history. Even has an alarm to let you know when something hits a high or low.
Only a couple of limits on the unit. Wind direction is not given, but with a prevailing wind, don't need it. Also, the lower limit on humidity seems to be 15%. I know the humidity is lower, we live in the desert. And falling pressure in the desert does not mean rain unless humidity is quite high. So, predictions are a little skewed. For the money, this is a great bargain. Tracking with 12 hour history really gives you an idea of how weather changes rapidly. Shows time and date and moon phase too. Fun instrument for kids and adults to learn about local weather. (Posted on 7/11/13)

Great 1st Weather Station Review by taichilady
For the price, this has got everything you need with the exception of a rain gauge; and, since I live in a desert we rarely get rain; so, why bother. It was easy to set up and quickly started working for my area. It has a 14 day learning period for your location; but, just 2 days after we got it, it said there was a chance of rain. At first we thought it was wrong; but, we checked the weather channel and there WAS a small storm that had formed a few miles north of us. So, it was right; there was a chance of rain! We are very satisfied with this product. (Posted on 11/16/12)

Great product for the money Review by David
Product works as you would expect. Outside tempurature sensor is solar shielded so no false readings. It would be nice to have an atomic clock but for $50 what do you expect. The wireless range is decent also. I have the two units about 65 feet apart and it is 100% on the signal.

This product works great! It gives you accurate wind speed, but it would be and Excellent product if it had the wind direction too. Overall, a great product! (Posted on 4/28/12)
Very good Review by Rick
This is a very good unit. I wish this model provided the wind direction, but you have to purchase a different model for that, and I wish there was a back light on the unit to see it in the dark. Overall, very practical and informative. A great buy for me. (Posted on 4/22/12)

Wireless range is great Review by MashC71
Station works as you would expect. Outside temp sensor is solar sheilded for no false readings. The wireless range is great for the distance I need. I have the two units about 50 feet apart and it is consistently on the signal. (Posted on 9/19/11)

Great for the price Review by Jonathan
Back in the seventies and early eighties and I designed and sold weather systems so I have a good sense of how these things work. The sensor housing is patterned after professional units, less the motorized aspiration. The instruction manual claims there is a motor in it that is solar powered to pull air over the sensor, but this is not the case. The housing lessens the effects of the sun beating down on the unit and giving artificially high readings.

The design is fairly effective except when the sun is low on the horizon then the light reaches in and heats the sensor. The rest of the time, it is fairly accurate to about a degree Fahrenheit.

The ability to see dew point, and barometric pressure is a good thing. However, it is lacking a mechanism to adjust the pressure reading to sea level which is the Weather Service standard no matter what the altitude. I live by the ocean so this is not a problem for me. However, if you live in mountainous regions, this can cause large errors in the barometer readings. However, remember that the pressure trends are much more important that the actual reading.

The convenience of mounting to a PVC 3/4" pipe is nice except try mounting to an 8 to 10 foot piece and it becomes wobbly. Better to use metal if you can or encase the 3/4" pipe into the next larger size PVC pipe for stability. Mounting to a fence is tenable at best because the wind flow is distorted by the fence and causes incorrect readings.

All in all, this is a great unit for the money. If you are serious about weather as a hobby, it would be better to go one step up and get wind direction too, You can do some nice short range forecasting having the weather vane. The AcuRite Models 00825, 01010, 01500, or 01015 would be much better for you. The most important thing for measuring wind, that you get the sensor totally in the clear and above any obstructions.
