Value I bought this as a gift for myself and it has been working now for about 6 days. It is great - it reads an accurate outside temperature and quickly picks up on the ever changing weather conditions here. I especially like the simple graphics and the forecaster. For an inexpensive item, it is real nice.

Value Of all the portable weather stations I have owned this one seems to be the best so far. I love the idea that they put a built in learning mode into the unit , which makes the unit get smarter as days goes by. Works great for me.

Value I bought this wireless thermometer because my children were constantly arguing with me over what they'd like to wear. My 6 and 8 year old sons frequently put on inappropriate clothing. With this item, they can learn about temperature, as well as have a guide as to appropriate clothing. The figure on the thermometer can either be male or female, and its clothing changes along with the temperature. For example, 60-70 will have long pants and short sleeves, under 60 will have long sleeves, and under 40 will have a hat. My kids have taken a great interest in knowing what the current temperature is, and they've accepted the thermometer's "authority" on what to wear! The only thing I wish it had is a forecast capability. Sure, the long pants and shirt may be appropriate for the morning, but later in the day, the child might be too warm. It would be perfect if it gave high and low temperatures for the day. We placed the actual thermometer on the outside window ledge, and the display screen in our living room. They are about 15 feet apart, so I can't speak to how it would operate at greater distances. Make sure you place it in a location where it will not receive direct sunlight, as obviously, that will greatly affect readings. I'm very happy with this purchase, and would recommend it for anyone with kids who wear shorts in January!
