- Spiders Review by Kenneth

Value I had the same problem with spiders that another reviewer had, but I'd bet that's a problem with any brand. The battery compartent on mine got water in it after a bad storm and the unit failed. I'll try one more time. When it's clean and functioning, it's cool!

- good gauge Review by Al

Value I would have given this a 5 start rateing except for the spiders. Yes spiders, they go down the hole in the catch cup and build webs on the teeter totter measuring device locking it up. I am now wondering if I install a screen over the catch cup to keep the spiders out would effect the measurements.
When the spiders were not a problem it works great. I have been useing it for over a year now brought it in over the last winter but didn't remove the batterys so it is still on the original ones. I think this winter I am just going to cover it with a sandwich baggie duck taped in place.

- Mine Works! Review by Mike N

Value In light of the reviews on this site, I was not optimistic about this gauge, but it has worked beautifully for 3+ years. The two parts of the gauge are admittedly not very far apart, but it responds accurately, and is easy to read and reset. Even though the instructions suggest taking it in during freezing weather, I have left it out. It measured melting ice and snow very nicely. I'm sorry to hear of so many disappointed customers on this site, but I won't hesitate to buy another one of these if mine ever gives up the ghost.

- A nice, little gadget Review by George

Value I have had this wireless rain gauge for several years now and it has never failed me. I set the collector/transmitter outside on a picnic table on the deck and the receiver on a windowsill in a direct line to each other That is the rule with just about any remote control device. They have to be able to "see" each other. Also, you have to keep the batteries fresh for it to work properly, but again, that is true for many battery-powered devices. I keep the alarm set to "on" and it has never failed to beep after a measurable amount of rain has fallen. I check the battery indicator every so often to see if the batteries need to be changed. I like gadgets -- I also have a wireless thermometer outside the house and you have to watch the batteries on that as well -- and this rain gauge is one of my favorites.
