Just replaced my Model #00992 Pro Weather Station (radio xmter failed after 3 years) with the Model #01500. Both of these feature rich units are well designed and function as advertised. As a returning customer I find both excelent units have one glaring omission. They use an excessive amount of alkaline batteries (10 for the 01500 and 7 for the 00992). My past experience has been that the alkaline batteries last for 45-60 days and are difficult to replace. A better option would be to use rechargable batteries (last for 5 years) utilizing the solar panel and 120v power supply to keep them fully charged.
