I have had several glass rain gauges - all have gotten broken - BUT since I have owned this one that seems to have stopped. Maybe it broke my break cycle - all I know is this is a very good quality rain gauge and I am still appreciating how it works. I'm the one at work they always question as to how much rain we got and thanks to this easy-to-read item - I am now the building official weatherwoman! Thanks Amazon!

As described, this is glass with well marked graduations. plastic bracket allows for mounting to vertical or horizontal surface. it is easy to remove glass tube from bracket to dump gauge. In service 6 months. Would recommend. (Posted on 4/12/12)
