Set up was extremely easy after reading the instructions. Clock automatically adjusted to the correct time based on the EST (E) setting on the time zone settings feature within 24 hours. Clock seems to pick up the Colorado signal easily even though it is placed on a North wall and not facing West from its location in South Eastern Michigan.
I did have to adjust the temperature based on difference in readings from my Acurite weather station which was easy to do as instructed . It would have helped if the instructions would have not indicated to turn a knob (for which there is none) but that you would have to turn the temperature assembly for clarity in the proper direction.
I spent about a week being flustered by this clock because, while it got close to the right time, it never quite made it. Off by 2 minutes, 3, 6, 8, 10 at various time. Tried resetting a few times, reinserting battery, other troubleshooting tips in the user manual and online. I then replaced my lithium batteries with alkalines and - voila - the clock is keeping perfect time. I have no idea why the different batteries make the clock malfunction, particularly since they are suggested as a cold weather option. I just hope that the temperature in my 3-season room does not dip below -4 degrees. The clock is very attractive, ideal for the space in which it is going. I highly recommend this clock with the caveat: alkaline, not lithium.
The clock is great looking and the automatic setting of time is great. The only problem I have is the temperature gage. It is VERY incorrect. At 6:00PM it registered 90 in my back yard, in the shade. My other weather station registered 64 in the same location.
18-inch Atomic Metal Copper Outdoor Clock with Thermometer
Model: 50314, 50314A1
This is a beautiful, well-made indoor-outdoor clock that works well. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that from a distance it's hard to tell the hour hand from the minute hand. Otherwise I am very happy with this product and highly recommend it.
Love the size and accuracy. So easy to read from a distance. Color we chose did not go with house color so we did paint it black. Looks just fine! Its a hit in the neighborhood when folks drive by and can check the time. A win-win for everyone!
just got it a few weeks ago and very satisfied with it. I really enjoy the atomic setting. I got a kick out of it when I first put the battery in. the hands were moving like crazy until it settled on the correct time. awesome!!! I feel it looks very nice in my home and have had compliments about it. I really like the copper accent.
Properly packaged, no dents. Operating as expected. Termometer and hygrometer add-ons are excellent and most welcome.
