Pro: dimming display
Con: no where dim enough for nighttime; at lowest setting the display is a bright night light. I have to cover it with a handkerchief. This is the most annoying "Con".
Pro: large projection of time on ceiling
Con: focus wheel is loose and setting it is coarse; flimsy feel ruins otherwise quality feel of device. However, once set it will stay set if you don't move the clock. Not realistic if you intend to clean it or around it.
Pros: USB charging, Radio Controlled Atomic Clock, Easy to Use Controls
Con: clock updated to daylight saving time 24 hrs ahead of time even though time zone was set correctly.
I was looking for projection alarm clock with large projected numerals. This clock is it. I can read the time on the ceiling at night WITHOUT my glasses. Love it!
I just wish the dimming display had a much dimmer setting.
Recommendation: allow a day and night brightness setting with the use of a photocell.
The clock is to replace an Oregon Scientific that lost a digit and it has been very good.
The projection brightness is higher and the projected size is about 1/3 larger at the same distance.
This is a great clock for the bedside. The display dims nicely on its own or you can set it to a number of pre-set levels. You never have to guess if the alarm is on or not....it clearly shows you on both the display and the projection. The projection beam swivels 180 degrees and focuses to a clear, crisp display on wall or ceiling. I really like the muted grey-white numbers on the clock face. They are very easy to read day or night. Having the USB plug on the clock is great too! Plug in your cell phone or reader and let it charge while you sleep. Plus, it is abut 2/3 the size of my previous projection clock (which was a different brand).
I always liked the projection clocks- they're cool and our grandkids are fascinated by the time being shown on the ceiling. When our kids and grandkids come to stay with us, they can even plug their phone into the clock so it can charge the battery. This clock is useful for the whole family!
