In Home Personal Sauna and Steam Room

AcuRite Team |

Few things in life make us as happy as a refreshing swim, a soak in a hot tub, or a relaxing few minutes in a personal sauna or steam room. And it's hard to deny the peacefulness you feel when lounging next to a koi pond or a fountain. To get the most out of the experience, you want to monitor and maintain conditions like temperature and humidity. Your best bet is to equip yourself with tools designed to keep tabs on important conditions.

Tips for Personal Sauna & Steam Room Conditions

  • A typical in-home sauna will be kept between 160 and 200°F (71-93°Celsius), with a humidity level between 5% and 30%.
  • A steam room will generally be kept between 110 and 120°F (43-49°Celsius), with humidity at or near 100%.
  • To help prevent mold, wipe down your sauna or steam room immediately after each use, and clean it regularly. Also, leave the door open between uses to air it out. The heated rocks in a sauna will help dry the area out when the door is left open.

Sauna & Steam Room Problems

You Don't Have A Way to Monitor Conditions Remotely: Whether you're waiting for your sauna or steam room to heat up, or you want to make sure it got turned off, it can be inconvenient to have to physically enter the enclosure to check conditions. And if you forget to turn it off for extended periods of time, you could be wasting energy, or opening the door to problems like mold.

Sauna & Steam Room Solutions

Monitor Conditions with Temperature and Humidity Sensors: A strategically-placed sauna thermometer and humidity sensor can, at-a-glance, show you conditions like sauna temperature without needing to go in the room. AcuRite sensors can transmit readings to a digital display, so you can view conditions from anywhere in the house, and even receive an alert when conditions meet or exceed your preset levels.
