  1. This Weather Station does what it says. review by MOSES on 4/20/2017

I was skeptical at first. But once I followed the very simple directions to install, It was easy. I didn't have to figure out how to configure the settings. It just started working and was able to connect to the outside sensor with no problems. Now I am enjoying knowing the outside weather, and all it's information in a brilliant view.

  2. Color Weather Station 02041M review by James J on 2/21/2017

Overall, it's an excellent unit. I am very pleased with it. Much nicer than what I was using. I will buy a Pro Weather Station from AcuRite in the very near future.

  3. Accurate and Attractive review by slotdoc@comcast.net on 11/18/2016

I purchased this unit about three months ago. The color greatly enhances its look. Along with its good looks comes high accuracy. I can confidently state that because I live in a community where there are a great deal of other amateur weather "experts" online. Checking other stations to compare accuracy has become a daily routine with me. After the 14-day break-in period I made only two adjustments; I decreased the outdoor humidity by 2% and decreased the indoor temp by 1 degree. Living directly on the coastline results in a high degree of humidity fluctuations, but this little jewel seems to adjust perfectly! I have only one request for the manufacturer....please increase the readability of the clock by making the typeface bolder.

  4. Absolutely Love It, Eventually review by Rebecca on 11/12/2016

This is a great smaller size color weather station that unfortunately does not hang on the wall, but rather upright on a desk or counter. I first had a major problem with moving the cursor to the next sequence of settings, especially the barometer options. The cursor cannot be seen as well there as it is seen clearly on the above settings of the date and time features. However, I found that by tilting the weather station slightly downward while it was facing me, I could see the black blinking cursor clearly, as to where it was blinking. Then came the next problem. I could only toggle back and fourth from one set of letters, to another set of letters, with one capital letter in each option in the barometer pressure options. From my perspective, I did not think that a barometer reading of "10" was in the least accurate. Be clear that the barometric cannot be set because it sets itself. Keeping in mind that the information in the user's manual did not address these two separate barometer setting option readings and what they meant and how they differ. The User's Manual only showed that they were where they are. So, after a very long wait on hold, I finally was able to talk to a tech support person to help me. She told me the first things to do is what is called a "Hard Reset." She explained what that was and walked me through it. She also explained that there is a difference in the process of a Hard Reset and a Calibration. The Calibration information IS in the User's Manual, which I also tried in an earlier attempt to fix the incorrect readout of my barometer, of course to no avai. The tech support person was excellent in explaining exactly what I needed to do to perform a Hard Reset. If you also have an odd reading for the barometer with your weather unit, this information my help you also. So, I simply did as the tech support person told me to. That being, I removed all six batteries from both the weather station and the sensor. As we waited a few minutes, I asked about the weird barometer reading and what the two options' letters meant. One had a capital P, the other had a capital H in it. The tech explained that one option is for the METRIC system barometer reading, the other one with the H in it is for the non-metric reading that we here in the USA use. Following the tech's instructions, I did two significant things at this stage. I put all six batteries, three in both of the units, back into the weather unit and back into the sensor. HOWEVER, before doing this step, the tech advised me to change the settings on both units from where I had them set, which was on frequency "B." The batteries must be out to change the frequency setting. You must match the frequency settings with both units, THEN put the batteries back in each unit. I had told her that I had both of my units set on "B" (for no particular reason.) The tech told me to change both settings to frequency "C", which I did prior to putting the batteries back in. The tech was so helpful, but this information should be in the User's Manual for those of us who do not know the abbreviations for the metric and non-metric barometric setting options. Now, my weather station is working perfectly and I am so happy with it, that I gifted one just like it to a close friend. Acurite, you requested details, so there you have them.

  5. It a cool weather station review by Matt on 7/15/2016

It is easy to set up love that it backlight auto dim and it keep up on the Temp.
I just love this weather station!

  6. Disappointed review by DW75 on 1/17/2016

I wanted to really like the product but a few flaws that make this a bad product. First flaw is you can only read everything standing up and looking down at it. The display should have been easier to read. The second flaw is if you mount it on the wall it does not mount flush to the wall. The third flaw is from more than a five feet or so away you can not read hardly anything. It seem accurate. It has all the functions I wanted but it has the few flaws that disappoint purchase of this product. I think I am going to return this product.

  7. Weather Station needs to monitor multiple sensors review by James on 4/17/2015

Station works great however, would like to be able to monitor up to 3 sensors from one station.....

  8. very impressed review by Darcy on 12/28/2014

    fantastic product

  9. Bright - Attractive - Fun review by Hank on 9/29/2014

The 2038W backlite display is bright and colorful -more attractive than the boring gray and black and screens. The white case complements the design. While the backlite background is a static color image, it adds immense viewing pleasure and interest. The 2038W uses Self-Calibrating forecasting technology. Some of the other AcuRite products use Self-Calibrating forecasting technology combined with Precision Forecasting technology (which allows a user to select their location from one 5 "GeoZones" in the North American continent.) I encourage AcuRite to market more of their weather stations using the selectable Precision Forecasting algorithm!

  10. Not accurate review by Cynthia on 8/18/2014

We have had this unit for 6 months. The humidity in the morning is over 80% and the outside temp is around 50 degrees. It doesn't give correct humidity, especially in the AM. It also keeps saying that we are having rain and lightning for the last 3 days, it has been sunny and no rain in sight. Everything else seems to be accurate.

  11. Good, but with problems review by KeysCopRetired on 7/11/2014

I am a weather buff. I've had this station over a year, here are my thoughts:

This unit has automatic and manual settings. In the fully automatic...learning mode, the temps both inside & outside are accurate. Make sure your outside sensor is placed in the shade. The humidity both inside and outside are accurate. The daily minimum/maximum temp & humidity is a nice feature. It resets at midnight. Conversely, The barometer has never been accurate, way off, by a full tenth of an inch sometimes. You can manually set the barometer to match a known accurate source close by, but I'm not sure this improves the accuracy of the future weather forecast icons displayed. The biggest problem with this unit, as others have said is....the viewing angle. The unit must be placed/mounted at eye level but better at BELOW eye level to see the display clearly. I think this is a design flaw somebody missed. I have my unit mounted on a hutch in my dining room so I don't have the problem of it being too bright to sleep......it is very bright at night....its the brightest night light I've ever had. The clock is not atomic, so it does not keep exact time. My opinion: It's good but not the best .

  12. Awesome review by Frank Dem on 6/21/2014

Very nice weather station, a pleasure to look at. I love the fact that you can manually calibrate the indoor-outdoor temperature and humidity. Not many weather stations offer that option. Signal strength is also very good.

The temperature and humidity are pretty accurate but I needed to calibrate the indoor temperature and humidity due to the internal lightning of the unit. Light does not bother me at night since this is located in the living room.

The unit has been operating for 12 days so I cant say much about the accuracy of the forecast but it looks good, better than most unit I earned before.

    Very happy with this purchase.

  13. The "Best" of the "Best"! review by Papa on 4/19/2014

I now own (5) Color Weather Stations - each has it's own, special, guiding, to help decide what is coming up!

Everything works just the way it should - The Old Mountain Goat likes it!

  14. Good review by Janett on 4/16/2014

First to Jeff......Even though the light on this unit dims at night it is still very bright in a dark room. I just stand a piece of "junk mail" the same size as the unit in front of it all night and remove it in the morning. This solves the problem 100%. As far as the unit so far so good. It is still in the learning mode but doing everything it is supposed to do.

  15. Pretty Good review by jeff on 4/8/2014

I like this weather station -- the color is cool. Wish you could turn it off during the night. Also like someone else mentioned would be nice if the temps could show the tenth like 48.6 degrees

  16. Its working as advertised review by Old Guy on 2/16/2014

Everything is working fine. I hope that most people know that the weather forcast predictions that all weather stations make is based on whether the barometric pressure is rising or falling. If its rising, fair weather will be forcast. If its falling, deteriorating weather will be forcast. That's it! Its just a general tendency that often holds true, nothing more. I also wish the display could be turned all the way off with the touch of a button, but if the brightness bothers you, just turn it toward the wall. Its using very little electricity.

  17. Smart Weather Station review by OCme on 1/14/2014

This it a fantastic weather station at a great price point. Easy to set up and understand and I love the screen.

  18. AMAZING customer service! review by AmberTeal on 12/23/2013

I ordered this item as a Christmas present on Dec 9th. Acurite promptly shipped it via FedEx Smartpost. Estimated delivery date was the 20th. That date came around and there was no sign on my package. FedEx stopped tracking when it was handed off to USPS, and they did not post the tracking info, so I thought it was lost. I planned to leave today to travel for Christmas, and placed a frantic phone call to Acurite after having no help from USPS reps or FedEx. The customer service rep at acurite, Brandon, was extremely helpful and understanding. The company offered to overnight me another package to the address that I was going to. I greatly accepted. Shortly after, the original package arrived at my house. Late, but still here! I cannot express in words how impressed I am by this company. The product is excellent quality, and I would recommend ordering!! They have nice products and they take excellent care of their customers!

  19. Nice but small review by user14 on 11/28/2013

I have the 75075 also and that you can see across the room. This one is kinda small but I do like it ! But its not really a color screen like a cell phone. If you shine a flashlight on the screen you will see sort of a template. The unit does not generate a color screen like a cell phone or a lcd. its simply a template that is color. When you power the unit it lights the template. Nice unit.. but small !

  20. Not real pleased review by John on 11/24/2013

Bought unit to replace older unit that stopped working this one cant see numbers unless I get up to it due to angle also the outdoor humidity reading is incorrect only shows 37% when its raining outside,

  21. Overall 4 of 5 stars..... review by Lwos on 11/14/2013

Like the constantly backlit display....... the only problem is as others have stated. You really can't hang it on a wall because it doesn't lay flat, unless you leave the nail extended out a good 2" from your wall. Best viewing of the numbers seems to be if you're above it, looking slightly "down". If you're at eye level or it's mounted higher than where you're sitting, for get it. Cant see a thing. The numbers will fade out. There should be an attachment to slip onto the back to make it hang flat on the wall, but even then, the numbers might not be dark and easily viewable.
Other than that, it's very accurate. Did buy the Lithium batteries for the outdoor sensor. Would make a great gift for the person who has "everything" or a pilot or weather nut.

  22. Nice, But With Some Quirks... review by P on 11/14/2013

I have two other Acurite weather stations; one w/ weather radio and I love them. This one; not as much. I hate the display that is too bright at night, even at 30% power. I wish it could be shut off for the night. I wish the power cord were a bit longer (glad it plugs in). And, perhaps my unit is defective, but the forecast is usually wildly wrong! This unit uses the same sensor as my other two weather stations, so I think it's not the sensor, but the inside unit. I've reset it twice. Replaced the batteries twice. Read the book from cover to cover several times. Let it re-learn twice. Still, the forecast is not correct. The stats are; just not the cloud/rain/sun part of the display. I very much like the size and white color of the unit. Wish more Acurite weather stations came in white. The reviewers who said the display is hard to read, if hung on the wall are right. You have to look at this at just the right angle. I wanted to hang it on the wall, but the sloped back and display angle problem prevented that. This unit, when viewed at the right angle, is very readable from across a large room. I like that. Just disappointed with the "quirks".
    REVIEW FOR--Full Color Weather Station with Forecast / Temperature / Humidity 02038 / 02039CA

  23. Very pleased with this weather station review by Edwin on 10/20/2013

I received this yesterday, set it up, and am pleased at how well it works. It's easy to use, set up, and to see........day or night. You can dim it so it's not as bright at night if you use it in a bedroom. I like that it has all information on one small device.

  24. Very positive! review by French on 10/15/2013

I was looking for specific parameters based on previous units owned. For instance, color, large easy to read inside and outside temps and humidity. Lastly, no strange characters taking up space. Basically, just the data in a visually appealing format. This model fit the bill. I am very pleased with it.

  25. Disappointed review by J P on 10/2/2013

I bought this unit to hang on the wall, to replace an older weather station.
This unit is fatter at the bottom than at the top, so when you hang it, the top sits closer to the wall than the bottom, so you can't see the numbers. The hanger should just be removed. It cannot be hung on the wall, unless you don't plan to look at the temperature, humidity, or time.
So, I rearranged my kitchen to set this on the countertop instead of hanging it. It's a nice little unit if you have don't plan to hang it on a wall.

  26. Very nice unit, small and unobtrusive! review by seamanage on 9/21/2013

This is replacing an older AcuRite weather station that was given to me as a gift. The unit is small enough to sit on the fireplace mantel without dominating the space, it's attractive and seems to work well. The only reason the old unit was replaced was that the outdoor sending unit could not be replaced - it was discontinued. I am looking forward to many years of service with this one if it is as good as the last.

  27. Limited Viewing Angle review by Rocky on 9/8/2013

I just installed this weather station and I am very impressed with the unit.

I am also very disappointed with the limited viewing angle of the display as it is only readable what seems like less than 10 degrees from perpendicular to the display screen.

On my last indoor/outdoor unit with LCD display I was able to read the unit while sitting down at the diner table. I have this unit mounted at the same height and I am unable to read the display.

  28. Excellent! review by Shane on 8/9/2013

  29. pretty good clock only one small flaw review by matt on 7/23/2013

this clock gives pretty accurate forecasts and temps only thing that kinda bothered me was that the time is displayed too small but other than that its just fine

  30. Attractive review by kc4sbd on 7/12/2013

I would have given it 5 stars but theres two things its lacking..adjustable angle view and adjustment to completely turn off back lite display for bedrooms

  31. Just Right review by Jonathan on 7/12/2013

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I ordered this unit, but I'm pleased with the purchase. The unit is compact (a little smaller than I anticipated, but right-sized). The readout is clear and the weather data are helpful. The auto dim feature is good (the backlight goes to the lowest level - 30% - at night), but I'm still getting used to the glow. (I may have to relocate the unit outside the bedroom.) As a weather station enthusiast, I'm sure I'll be looking around for another tempting unit soon. For now I'm happy with the investment.

  32. UPDATE REVIEW review by Ben on 7/5/2013

It certainly has "learned" the forecasting process quite well; the baro pressure readings are spot on with the local weather station in Martin Co, Florida. It will take almost 14 full days to do so but be patient and it will be very accurate.

  33. Love It review by Mike & Janie on 6/25/2013

Very nice unit. Love the color display. Seems to be very accurate temp, humidity, etc. Is easily scene by old tired eyes even without glasses. Great product and very reasonable priced.

  34. Color display for those of us with 5 in 1 sensors review by Paul on 6/15/2013

I like the color display. Those of us with a 5 in 1 sensor might like to check conditions on the fly even though we have other displays(like beside the back door)
    Have you thought of that?

    P. H.

  35. Update-It really does learn review by Old Mike on 6/15/2013

Pressure correction for altitude that is.
When I first got it,was off by 0.13 inches mercury compared to local weather stations via weather underground. At 14 days off about 0.03-.04, at 16 days right on.
Whether predictions so far seem pretty good.
    Happy with unit.
    Old Mike

  36. Easy to set up review by Ben on 6/10/2013

This is replacing a hard to deal with Honeywell unit (Oregon Scientific). I had it up and running within 4 minutes. The fact it has an AC power adaptor is a big plus for my dad as his power flickers a lot in Florida and is not always reliable.
It grabbed the sensor the minute I set it up and I have it in a weather padoga outside about 50 feet from base unit with no issues thus far. It still needs to learn the weather here so I am not reviewing forecasting just yet.
Dad likes the auto dim feature of the back light for fall and summer usage. He also liked the intellitime feature so he does not have to muck with time settings. The only thing I wish is it would read tenth of degree but that is a small issue. Outside and inside temp are spot on as are the humidity readings.

  37. Awesome little weather station review by Annie on 6/4/2013

Completely agree with the other reviewers that say this is a great little weather station!
I was in the market for a new weather station and settled on this one after a TON of research! The unit really had everything I was looking for. I had another AcuRite weather station before (I broke it), but this one is really great with all the features that are included. Love the full color screen that is easily seen from across the room. Set-up was very easy and was working in under 15 minutes. There is a 14-day learning period for the 'Forecast' feature. Love that item came with a AC power adapter as the color screen could be a battery-hog! The outside remote sensor will require 2 AA batteries and the indoor unit will require 3 AA batteries to make sure info is not lost during any power loss. Well worth the price I paid! So happy with the product that I am buying another as a gift!

  38. Every thing I wanted review by Old Mike on 5/29/2013

Well almost, Iike to see the decimals, but can live without it.
    Wonderfull LCD color screen.
If I check the temp against a calibrated analog lab thermometer, the outside sender is right on,inside one degree off. If I put the sending unit in the freezer it is also spot on and transmits full signal through the freezer.
Humidity not sure yet, everyone else online in my area is reading 98% after rain,I have 80%.
But the best part is you can enter calibration offsets, for temp, pressure and humidity.
This is a great feature, and really makes the unit for me.
    Old Mike

  39. Great Product review by MNGuy on 4/21/2013

Great product. Color display is awesome. Many compliments. I am still waiting for the full 33.33 days of calibration to complete. A lot of great features especially the indoor and outdoor humidity features.

  40. Top Notch Unit... review by chiguys on 3/29/2013
