FAQ & Troubleshooting

Problem

Possible Solution

Remote sensor temperature is flashing, stuck, or showing dashes If the Digital Thermometer is not receiving a signal from the sensor, or the temperature is flashing, showing dashes, or stuck, the unit may be experiencing wireless interference. Perform a hard reset to gain a strong connection between the units.

1. Bring both the sensor and display together and position them side by side.
NOTE: If you have multiple sensors connected to the Multi-Sensor Digital Thermometer, and you are not sure which sensor is experiencing interference, bring all sensors together with the display.

2. Remove all batteries from the sensor (or sensors).
3. Remove all batteries from the display.

Important! If you have multiple sensors:

  • If you are pairing more than one temperature sensor with the display, the A-B-C switch positions must differ between each sensor. Verify that each sensor has a different channel selected by checking the switch position in the battery compartment.
4. Wait 1 minute to ensure that an remaining battery power has discharged from both units.
5. Reinstall batteries in the outdoor sensor (or sensors) first.
6. Reinstall batteries in the display last.
7. Let units sit within a couple feet of each other for a few minutes to ensure a wireless signal is received.
*The display should receive the signal within several minutes.
8. After a connection has been established, you may place the sensor (or sensors) in their intended locations.
*If the signal connection fails after the units are separated, try a new location for the display, the sensor, or both.

Sensor not recognized or no signal

If the Multi-Sensor Display is being used with more than one 592TXR / 06002RM Temperature & Humidity Sensor, and the display is showing duplicate information for different locations or one or more of the sensors are not connecting, verify the sensors are set to different A-B-C channels.

  1. Remove the batteries from the Temperature & Humidity Sensors.
  2. Locate the A-B-C switch inside the battery compartment of each sensor.
  3. Verify the sensors are set to different channels from each other. If multiple sensors are on the sameletter channel, move the switches so that no two sensors are on the same channel.
  4. Verify that each location on the Multi-Sensor Display is set to the correct A-B-C channel, matching the A-B-C channel for the sensor it is synchronized with.
NOTE: Locations may need to be deleted and setup under the correct A, B, or C channels. Consult the Multi-Sensor Display manual for additional setup instructions.

If the wireless signal indicator shows no bars:

  • Relocate the display unit and/or the outdoor sensor. The units must be within 330 feet (100 meters) of each other.
  • Make sure both units are placed at least 3 feet (.9 meters) away from electronics that may interfere with the wireless communication (such as TVs, microwaves, computers, etc).
  • Use standard alkaline batteries (or lithium batteries in sensor when temperature is below -4ºF/-20ºC). Do not use heavy duty or rechargeable batteries. NOTE: It may take a few minutes for display unit and sensor to synchronize after batteries are replaced.
Inaccurate temperature
  • Make sure both the display unit and sensors are placed out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources or vents.
Display screen not working
  • Check that the batteries are installed correctly. Batteries may need to be replaced.
Additional sensors not connecting to display If the Digital Thermometer is being paired with more than one 592TXR / 06002RM Temperature & Humidity Sensor, and the display is unable to connect to to the additional sensor or sensors, verify the sensors are set to different A-B-C channels.

1. Remove the batteries from the Temperature & Humidity Sensors.
2. Locate the A-B-C switch inside the battery compartment of each sensor.
3. Verify the sensors are set to different channels from each other. If multiple sensors are on the same letter channel, move the switches so that no two sensors are on the same channel.

NOTE: A hard reset may need to be performed to connect to the newly configured sensors. Consult the Digital Thermometer manual for additional setup instructions.
