This is my second unit, my first was over 5 years old and one the cups got hit by a tree limb and broke. Decided it was time to replace. Get products and great people to work with.
The system was fairly easy to set up once I got the rain gauge calibrated. The setting of South using the screws was a little challenging as well since the screws did not penetrate the plastic poll very easily but putting a pilot hole in did help. My AcuRite is a perfect companion to the weather station and I use it often. Setting the system up on wunderground was very easy and makes it possible for the neighbors to be able to see local weather from their computers as well. My 5-in-1 is on about three feet above my second story roof at its peak, about 25 feet above the ground.
The radios in the 5 in 1 sensor and the smart hub are total junk. The only way you can get a good signal is to place them 5 feet apart. I read online that people are adding makeshift external antennas trying to get them to work. I don't know why you bothered making them wireless with that poor of range. I have used Davis Instruments stations for years but I thought I would give Acurite a try. There is absolutely no comparison between the two, I will be going back to Davis.
Easy to install, accurate directions. Smart Hub was hard to find good location for strongest signal. Once found it worked well.
Only problem is barometric pressure does not display accurately on computer, all other readings are good.
I bought this system for my house and used it to connect other Acu-rite sensors that I have already. The bridge part was set up quickly without any hiccups and it found all my sensors right away. I particularly like that I can upload my weather information online- I couldn't do that before without having the bridge or a PC connect unit. But with this system I can get it all to connect and upload easily. This is just what I needed!
