Clock Technology
Intelli-Time® Clock Technology
With Intelli-Time, you will never have to set or reset the time. AcuRite products with Intelli-Time technology are pre-programmed with the time and date. Simply select your time zone, and the correct time and date are automatically displayed. Intelli-Time products store the time, date, and alarm settings even after power outages, unplugging, or battery removal.
Intelli-Time is not radio-controlled but instead uses a pre-installed battery to store the time and date settings until the product is powered on by batteries or power adapter. A built-in internal calendar is designed to update the clock automatically to spring forward and fall back for Daylight Saving Time (DST).
Set & Forget® Clock Technology
With patented Set & Forget clock technology, you never have to adjust the time settings on your clock. Set & Forget clocks come with a built-in internal calendar designed to update the clock automatically to spring forward and fall back for Daylight Saving Time (DST). Set & Forget technology is not radio-controlled, but instead uses a pre-installed battery to store the time and date.
Atomic & Atomix Clock Technology
AcuRite atomic clocks use a radio-controlled signal to synchronize to the correct time broadcast by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Radio Station WWVB, located near Fort Collins, Colorado. WWVB broadcasts the current time and date with split-second accuracy. Atomic clocks set themselves and automatically adjust for daylight saving time (DST) to provide the most accurate timekeeping standard possible.
Chaney Instrument Co. pioneered its line of analog atomic clocks in 1998.

Quartz Crystal Timekeeping Technology
AcuRite quartz crystal clocks utilize an electronic circuit regulated by quartz crystal to generate a signal with precision accuracy to keep time. AcuRite and it's parent company, Chaney Instrument, have a long history in the manufacturing of quartz clock movements. Quartz movements are currently the most popular timekeeping technology in clocks, watches and other appliances that keep time.
