My indoor/outdoor unit only cost less than $18 and does what I want it to do but, it does not have a backlight and it is hard to read the screen. Am I missing a step to aluminate the screen?
This is a replacement because my first one was not recording the indoor temperature accurately. I have had the new one for about a week and it appears to be working. If you have to call the company there is a long hold time.
Setup is very easy and quick. Bear in mind that this only does temperature for the remote sensor, and not humidity. Works great. Would love a backlight when a button is pushed.
I originally bought three of these units for Christmas presents last year. They were the best presents I could have bought. There has been only minute problems and I can't help but wonder if it's the operators. I received one of these presents and I have had no problems at all. Perhaps I should have never told them about the buttons. I bought another one this year, not this model as I couldn't find it and thought it had been replaced. Now today I find it. The one I bought this year is prettier and I hope it works as well as the ones I bought last year.
Purchased one last year for my hunting camper and it worked great from the end of summer through to spring. I guess the high temps during the in the camper cooked it though. Just purchased another one (good price at Walmart). This time I'll be bringing it home for the summer months.
Purchased the 00754 as a gift for my husband so he could know the lows at night. Works mostly as advertised, although it is crucial not to place outdoor sensor in the sun. Clock time/date was wrong when we received it - date was over 1 year off - but works okay once I figured out how to reset it. Not sure what the Intelli-Time Clock is actually supposed to do? It seems to just be a regular clock. Like its sleek look.
i have this model and a different model both are great
I have had this unit for 4.5 months and I have found it to be very accurate. I am looking into a weather station from Acu-Rite for my house and taking this unit to work. Thank you for making a good product.
I received this as a gift, and went to set it up immediately. I registered the product for the warranty (luckily). Initially, I couldn't get the sensor to read, so I read the manual, troubleshooted it, went to the website and followed the instructions there, and still couldn't get it to work. I tried 4 different brands of batteries I had around the house, and nothing.
Called Chaney, they told me to get more batteries. Did that. Nothing. Called back...they sent me a new sensor. Waited 2 weeks, got that in the mail, and it wouldn't work either! New batteries, nothing. Clearly this is a base station radio issue, but they wanted ME to pay to ship it in and have them test it.
Not going to happen. I complained, so the supervisor authorized a prepaid label. Obviously, I'll wait another month to either be sent another cheap base station, or nothing at all. Just wish I hadn't ever received it as a gift.
If you buy it and it works, great. If not, KEEP THE RECEIPT. Don't bother with Chaney. Just take it back to Home Depot or wherever.
This is a replacement for an earlier model Acurite model. This one was easier to set up and get operating. I ti also easier to read. I like the additional information such as signal strength and high/low temperatures. Seems to agree very closely with other sources of outdoor temperature.
I wanted a way to check our pool water temperature. I normally would go outside, walk across the grass and check at the poolside. But this is much lazier! I also didn't feel like buying a pool specific thermometer. I did have to make a few alterations though to make it work.
I love my new Acu-Rite. I had different brand and I had to replace the batteries everytime I turned around. I like the large display and that it sits straight up. My last one sat at an angle and it was hard to read unless you were very close. This can be read from several feet away. I feel I got a very good deal for the price.
Was very happy with this unit. Would look for outside temperature before going to work in the morning. But my sister came to visit and had to clean my room and can't find it. I will be getting another one.
Excellent ID/OD Thermometer and the clock is magic. (note read the Instruction Manual)
I really like the 330 feet max range
This product works flawlessly.. I've used it for over a year and haven't even changed batteries!!
I am very happy with my 00754. As long as I read the instruction manual, I am just fine!
I bought it at a Garage Sale at $6 US Dlls. It is very easy to use. The Signal Indicator is an excellent feature. It help us to adjust exactly the thermostat on the Ceramic Heater and if we need to turn on or not.
Just put batteries in it and set time zone, Great value for the money, I'm staying in my Toy Hauler trailer (all metal walls) and it gets the outside weather wireless accurately.
FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY....
It has held up great in our 22Degrees of 'cold' in Florida this morning!! brrrrrrrr
Works beautifully and simple to use
Like the arrow indicator for rising or falling temperatures, I would recommend this product. Works great and easy to read.
instrument is accurate and very flexible in location. We use lithium batteries for best performance because of our frigid cold winters.
The atomic clock feature is very useful, especially during power outages. The indoor temperature feature lets us check the our air conditioning system in different rooms.
It is very accurate and helps me decide if I should open a window or turn on the Air conditioner.
Put the batteries - it turned on and it had the correct time, date, indoor and outdoor (after stabilization) temperatures. I was prepared to read the directions, but not needed. Done and ready to go.
