  1. 5&1 Weather Stations review by RANNY on 2/3/2017
    Value

I have used several 5&1 Weather stations of the last several years and have found them a great value for the price. They tend to be fairly accurate (in accordance with their specifications), dependable, and easy to set up.
Note: If installed in a very windy area, the wind speed indicator does tend to wear out quickly. I live in a windy valley in Alaska that experiences multiple(5-7) multiple-day(3-5) wind events with sustained wind speeds of 35-55, common gusts above 70, infrequently gusts above 90-100 mph, which has required me to rebuild or replace the wind indicator assembly quite often. Also of note, the integrated rain gauge flutters during high wind events and falsely reports high rates of rain. - Overall great machines, but understanding these limitations will ensure your satisfaction with these products.

  2. my acurite 5in1 weather station review by Larry on 1/30/2017
    Value

over all I am satisfied with my system. I upgraded displays so I could connect to the internet and put my station on weather underground.

  3. 5 in 1 weather station review by Lynn on 12/28/2016
    Value

Over all I give it a 4 star rating, I think the wind speed could be closer.
The rest seams to be close enough.
Worked after set up, have tweaked it a little bit as I go.

  4. very acurite review by Greg on 10/14/2016
    Value

The weather station was very easy to set up, and I find all the readings very acurite (pun?)

however, I do not want to leave my computer on, or to monitor my data remotely. We live in a rain forest, and I like to keep track of our daily data like temp and rain. The unit does not have a logger, so unless you leave the computer on you loose data

My onlt complaint is the lack of logging and nice monitoring software.

  5. Good product. review by Steven on 8/7/2016
    Value

I got this weather station to replace one I had a lot of problems with. It was very easy to set up. I had it installed in less than an hour. I like the idea of the battery back up, because I have a lot of power outages of the three second variety. Just enough to mess everything up. It does have two minor problems. One is, unless I am standing right in front of the display, it is hard for me to read. The other is, it does not have a weekly rainfall total in which to help with my irrigating. Both of these I can live with. Overall it is a very informative unit, and well worth the price.

  6. Great product review by Chris on 7/18/2016

Bought this to replace an older model that didn't have the rain gauge. Set up was simple, and it worked right off the bat. Sat it beside the old unit to get a comparison, the readings were accurate when compared to the older unit. It's only been working three days but so far I'm really impressed, especially with the clarity of the color screen.

  7. Inaccurate outdoor temperature review by Bernard on 7/7/2016
    Value

This is a fantastic piece of equipment for all of the parameters it measures except for the outdoor temperature. The outdoor temperature seems to be very accurate except when the sun hits it. Then it reads anywhere from 3 to 12 degrees too high. For the price it is far nicer than the Davis unit I had for 20 years.

  8. Not good! review by Scott on 6/20/2016
    Value

All seemed fine but the anemometer has so much friction that it doesn't turn freely. Tried graphite powder but there is plastic on plastic scraping for 120 degrees so the wind hasn't been able to turn the rotor yet and the breeze is between 10-15 mph (measured with my old Honeywell system this was suppose to replace). So I'm very disappointed. A simple QA check could have discovered this before going out the door. Now I have to go through the hassle of customer support on Monday. Oh joy!

  9. Excellent Customer Service review by James on 5/14/2016
    Value

I received a 5-in-1 weather station for Christmas. I eagerly set it up and BOOM! I was getting weather info and loved my new gift. Suddenly one day the temp readout was at -40 degrees. Hmmm, I KNOW it is chilly but not that chilly.

I called customer service (it took a while but eventually I was able to contact a rep, it was due to the time change and everyone was calling in for assistance). Regardless, my rep talk me through resetting the unit (which I had done several times, but hey, maybe I missed a step).

It was determined my unit was non-functional and a new unit would be sent to me. It arrived promptly, set it up and it has been working great ever since!

They followed up with a couple of phone calls (very nice touch) and all is right with the world again! Great customer service, excellent product. 4 STARS!

  10. Great product - very informative screen ticker review by Jan on 3/29/2016
    Value

First of all, I bought a total of 7 of these stations. I gave two as gifts Christmas 2015 to people who love the product. One of those gifts went to a novice who set the station up and got it online all by himself. Installation is a snap, and so is the software if you are at all technically proficient at installing a simple PC program. One station is on my rooftop, and another was just installed at a bicycle business where weather is always a hot topic. The display is the best part. It is BRIGHT and so easy to read. You can watch the ticker and I guarantee you will get some interesting info from it, such as times of highs and lows, average temps, wind gusts etc. - interesting informative info. Be sure and register your station with Weather Underground and you will be able to access it anywhere, and so can your neighbors. Once you do this, copy the URL and go to tinyurl.com and get yourself a simple easy to remember URL. For example, mine is http://tinyurl.com/satxwx I have owned several Davis stations and have a new Vantage Vue on the rooftop as well. I bought the first Accurite on a whim, thinking I would try it but not expecting much due to the low price. Boy was I surprised! FACT: I like this station better than the $300 Davis I bought and installed at the same time. Seems to be just as accurate, and the display is hands down better! I would recommend you buy a 1" conduit from Lowes or Home Depot and a couple of U clamps to clamp it on to a roof pipe. This will get the station up and give accurate wind indicators. You can also buy inexpensive roof antenna mast mounts from Amazon that you can mount the conduit to if you don't have metal or lead pipes. In a nutshell: This is a great product and you are getting so much for your money, you just can't go wrong. Take your saving and buy a good mount and definitely use Lithium batteries - better in the cold, and they will last so much longer and you won't need to change them very often. Nice job Accurite - home run on this one!

  11. Love it review by William on 1/26/2016

This was purchased by my wife as a gift and I keep telling her how much I love this weather station. I am a weather buff and this fits the bill perfectly. It works great, was easy to set up and the large color display is awesome.

  12. Great station, wish I bought one sooner. review by Thomas on 1/2/2016
    Value

I like the bigger color display and the thorough information it provides I wish it would not use as many batteries as it does but that's a little price to pay for great instrument with a very simple setup.
