Hi Everyone!

I’m Kari Strenfel, AcuRite’s first on-staff Meteorologist. Some of you crazy weather enthusiasts may recognize me from Weather Underground, where I started as an intern in 2007 during grad school, and continued to a full-time position in 2010 as an operational meteorologist. After a few years of forecasting nationwide for newspapers and the Associated Press, my role transitioned to helping manage the Weather Underground Personal Weather Station Network. This is where I started playing around with various weather stations and I learned about the extensive suite of sensors offered by AcuRite. Joining the AcuRite Team by the end of 2017 was an exciting transition and as I learn more about the AcuRite products and sensors, I hope to help with product development, data displays and visualization, and reaching new audiences and users.

That being said, I’m happy to share with you the new AcuRite Blogs, launched in January 2018. While I will be writing many articles for some of the other blog categories such as Measuring Weather, Meteorology 101, Current Weather Events, etc., I will also be posting some casual articles on my very own blog right here: Elements with Kari . We are trying to keep it broad so feel free to comment any time with topics, ideas, and crazy weather stuff you would like me to write about. Let’s have some fun in 2018!
